As a lifelong woodworker, I have been making gun grips for several years. I make grips for the full size 1911s and for the Sig Sauer P238. A lot of handwork is done in the making of the grips. I strive to find woods with nice figure in them and really make it show in the final product.

The woods I mostly use are Birds Eye Maple, Cocobolo, Tiger Stripe Maple, Mahogany, Walnut, and all kinds of hardwood burls. The selection of woods will continue to grow. Customers can also send me the wood of their choice and I can custom make the grips for them. I will finish the grips, or they can be left unfinished if the customer chooses to finish them.

I enjoy making the grips but what I like even more is finishing them. I have many finishing techniques to bring out the high figure in the grips. I offer the grips in a smooth or checkered finish. My finishing top coat is a very durable pre-catalyzed laquer. Pre-catalyzed means the finish sets up and then the catalyst sets up again giving a very hard final surface.
